Universal & Islands of Adventure

This weekend I got to join my roommates/best friends Michael and Kandice on a trip to Orlando to visit the theme parks and stay with Kandice’s best friend from college. We had a couple of bumps in the road and ended up getting to the parks a little late in the day but life’s all about going with the flow and the time we did spend in the parks made it all worth it.

We had enough time to stroll through Harry Potter world and ride the Gringotts Bank ride before eating lunch in Diagon Alley. Side note: highly recommend trying Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice while you’re in Harry Potter world, especially if you’ve already tried Butterbeer and are looking for something different, its soo good.

After we were done in Harry Potter world we made our way to Islands of Adventure for the rest of the night because Universal was closing early for Halloween Horror Nights. As soon as we got there we got in line for the new King Kong ride which just opened this past summer. We ended up running into our friends Alex and Lexi who I was just in Tampa staying with earlier this month, so it was really fun to see them briefly too.

Our final stop in the parks was to check out the renovated Hulk ride and it was definitely worth the wait. The inside is all new and shiny and since we rode it right before the park closed it was dark outside and even more fun to see the parks all lit up from the top of the coaster.

Before we headed home for the night we went to City Walk to meet up with our friends Scott and Collin who also live in Orlando. We got some dinner and then stopped at the new Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, which looks like its straight out of a Willy Wonka movie, for the most extravagant milkshakes and sundaes any of us had ever seen. Seriously, these milkshakes had cupcakes and brownies overflowing from the tops of them, I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re ever in City Walk. Overall it was a great weekend getting to see a bunch of friends and spending time with my Mikemike and Kandice outside of Tallahassee! Check out the video below if you want to see the weekend in action and get a glimpse of those milkshakes I was talking about.
